Frequently Asked Questions

We suggest a 2 week notice for your class to be scheduled.

We have several offices in varied locations were individuals may register. However, we specialize in Onsite group training at the client's location.

The American Heart Association does establish an age when you are old enough to be certified. Anyone who is mature and capable enough to demonstrate the correct use of CPR skills may be certified.

The certificate you receive upon completion of the blended training is the same one as you would receive in the instructor led classroom course. It is nationally recognized.

his new learning method was launched in 2015 by the American Heart Association. You are required to complete an online part 1 module for your class which consists on the theory and written test. Upon completion, you will be provided a certificate that you must give to the instructor who will be doing your Part 2 and 3. Part 2 consists of reviewing and practicingthe skills that will you will be tested on. Part 3 will consist of the actual skills testing with an AHA instructor.

The duration of this type of training depends on the amount of time you dedicate to Part 1. Part 2 and 3 may have an approximate duration of 45 minutes to an hour.

Students taking the First Aid class will learn about using Epinephrine Pens. Each student will practice using an epipen and will be tested by the instructor on its proper use. The epipen used in class is a trainer and does not contain a needle.

For onsite training, we require a training location for the class. It can be a conference room, a regular classroom, or convention center that accommodates all students sitting down and has an open area in front of the classroom for practices with the manikins. Audiovisual equipment will be provided if the training room is not equipped with it. Tables are not necessary as the students will be provided with handbooks that contain all the material that is discussed.

If you are sued for providing CPR according to the guidelines taught in class, you are protected under the Good Samaritan Law. If you perform an invasive procedure or give CPR with different guidelines that are not safe for the victim, the Good Samaritan Law might not protect you.

Every student needs to be tested on their skills. If you are not able to perform CPR effectively, we suggest waiting until you are physically capable of performing the task. However, our instructors are trained to provide accommodations for special situations.
They will not certify a person that has not proven that he/she is capable to do CPR in a testing scenario.

Yes.

Training in AED is required and part of the CPR course. This is not an optional module. Even if your workplace doesn't have an AED, you will practice and be tested on using an AED. The AED's used in our classes are trainers are do not actually give shocks.

I am afraid to use an AED. Can I get shocked?The AED's used in our classes are trainers are do not actually give shocks. The real AED's are safe to use in a real scenario as well. They will only shock if it is absolutely necessary. You don't have to worry about giving an unnecessary shock.

In addition to CPR for lay rescuers and Healthcare Providers, we also provide the First Aid and the Bloodborne Pathogens courses.

We send out the certifications within a week of class completion.

The Heartsaver courses are designed for lay rescuers and are good for babysitters. You may choose to be certified in CPR and AED or in First Aid with CPR and AED.
I am required to have CPR to adopt a child, which course do I need to register for?You would need to register for a Heartsaver course. You may choose to be certified in CPR and AED or in First Aid with CPR and AED. Make sure that your class includes the child and infant modules as these are optional modules.

Yes. We are able to schedule classes Monday through Saturday.

If you were trained by our company, we are able to issue a replacement card for a $15 fee. You just need to call our offices and request a duplicate card to one of our representatives.

Yes. We specialize in Onsite training. You may contact us to schedule a training at your location. We will do our best to schedule your class on the date and time that best suits your needs.

You may purchase the online Part 1 module from our website, under the tab "Online Classes". You will receive an email with a unique code and instructions to access it. Once you have completed the Online Part 1 module, you must bring in the certificate of completion and hand it in to the instructor the day of the skills session.

If the student fails the skills testing, the instructor gives the student a skills sheet so that he/she may review where they went wrong and be able to retake the skills testing within a 30 day period. If time allows, the student may retake the skills testing the same day.

If the student fails the written portion of the test, he is instructed to review the material in his Student manual and retake the test within a 30 day period. If time allows the student may be able to retake the test the same day.

The only certification that requires the student to pass a written test is the BLS for Healthcare Providers training.

We send one instructor for every 9-10 participant.

Our certifications are provided by the American Heart Association, which is recognized worldwide.

The duration of this class is approximately 5 hours. If the child and infant modules are included, it may take approximately 6-6.5 hours.

The skills session for the BLS for Healthcare Providers training is approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

BLS for Healthcare Providers.

All our Heartsaver Courses are certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) .The AHA is a nationally recognized organization and the certification should be valid for any workplace. If you are a Healthcare Provider, and need to have your CPR certification for your job, please register for a BLS for Healthcare Providers course.

All CPR certifications are valid for 2 years. The Bloodborne Pathogens certificate is valid for 1 year.

The Instructor-led BLS for Healthcare Providers training is approximately 4 hours long.

According to AHA Guidelines, everyone must retake the course, whether it be through blended training or in a traditional classroom based setting, and be monitored by a certified instructor in order to receive a new CPR card.
